THIS IS THE ONLY HISTORY I HAVE ON MY BEAUCHAMP
FAMILY. JOHN BEAUCHAMP WAS MY NINTH GREAT GRANDFATHER ON MY FATHER'S SIDE
OF THE FAMILY. THIS INFO I FOUND ON THE INTERNET IT IS ATTRIBUTED TO HAL
PHILIPS AND IS ALSO LISTED IN THE PENNSYLVANIA AVCHIVES.
JOHN WAS A LONDON MERCHANT AND MEMBER OF
THE PLYMOUTH COMPANY. THIS STOCK COMPANY WAS FORMED TO SUPPLY THE PLANTATION
IN PLYMOUTH,MASS. HE WAS ONE OF THE FINANCIAL ADVENTURERS WHO FINANCED
THE "MAYFLOWER" WHICH CAME TO AMERICA IN 1620.
MY 8TH GREAT GRANDFATHER
In his will he speaks of himself as
"Weaver, of London". He was sent to Somerset Co,md. by Gov. Charles Calverin
in the spring of 1666 as a person well qualified to exercise the office
of clerk of court for the entire eastern shore, but on august 22,1666, somerset
co.., was established and from that time with the exception of a few months,
he was clerk of Somerset Co. Md. untill his death in 1691.
